No Surprises Act

A new federal rule to protect consumers from surprise health care bills,  commonly referred to as the No Surprises Act, went into effect on January 1, 2022.  This rule applies to consumers who are self-pay. Under this rule, providers must offer a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges that may be billed for services.

  • Under the law, health care providers are expected to provide clients who are not using health insurance a Good Faith Estimate of what they will be charged for all services.

  • Information about the cost of service will be provided when a client schedules.

  • For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
